A MESSAGE FROM THE EVENT CREATOR:

As of June 2024, I closed the doors to The Dark Parlour and ceased operation due to the slow economy in Royal Square District and the ever increasing cost of goods and living. As a result, Fang Around events will no longer occur in the Royal Square District. 

 The Dark Parlour was a unique experience of shopping, culture, history, and more. A Haus of Obscurities, the Parlour had five rooms of retail space that explored a wide variety of antiques, collectibles, dark art, gothic primitives, and the occult. For 5 years, the shop was a heartbeat in Royal Square District of Downtown York, PA, offering not only the retail experience, but also events such as workshops, lectures, parties, and more.

I began my vision for The Dark Parlour in the Summer of 2018, a year after my father passed. It was a time of much grief, and I wanted to do something that would both honor my childhood days of antiquing with my parents, and bring a community of alternatives together.

By December of 2018, I gathered up the necessary bits to begin a chapter with a brick and mortar store. The Dark Parlour proved to be a place of sanctuary, providing education, fun, history, and entertainment. The Haus was a place to gather and make new friends. Many found their tribe there. 

Thank you, each and every one of you, for your time spent with me at The Dark Parlour. I truly felt as though every person that walked in was a new friend, and am so grateful to all of you. I wish I could keep going, but unfortunately the costs of staying open are far too much.
